North Ferrisburgh United Methodist Church
A Message from Pastor Kim:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Wear Red (or pink or orange or yellow) this Sunday! It’s Pentecost—the birthday of the church. The story in Acts 2 tells about the Holy Spirit (the presence of the risen Christ) moving among the disciples like wind or flame. Thus we wear red. But more important—are we open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit?
Are we open to where Christ is leading us today?
The early church handled tremendous change and challenge. Every era of Christians also faces change and challenge. If we can stay true to the spirit of the risen Christ, we will be led into God’s victory for us in this era of faith. We will find new ways to share the old, old story of God’s love. We will be led to welcome people whom society may look down on. We will be led to a generosity that our society has forgotten. We will be led to a unity in Christ that takes us from lonely to “there are no strangers here, just friends of Jesus doing his work today.”
Last Sunday Robin Curler shared that Katie Curler is graduating from Castleton College this month. She wanted to share “I feel that Katie is who she is today, because of Sunday school, youth group and Mission trips and the people of this church who loved her and helped her grow into the young adult she is today.” Robin couldn’t say this without breaking down, so she gave me permission to share this with you. Your love makes a difference ALWAYS. Let’s celebrate!
Grace and Peace,
Kim
